Inn & Keepers

Meet the Innkeepers

We had dreamed of owning a bed and breakfast for over a decade but thought it would be impossible until much later. Then, a good friend counseled Matt, “Not to wait until you retire to live your dreams.” That advice and other favorable life circumstances inspired us to pursue our dreams. Our search led us to The Inn at Onancock and Virginia’s Eastern Shore.

We moved from the north shore of Boston, where we both served as nonprofit executives. We each have professional skills and have faithful servants’ hearts. We aim to use our personal gifts, professional experience, and love for people to create a warm, welcoming experience for our guests.

A warm and thoughtful host and an avid cook and gardener, Kim’s passion for good food and her gift for hospitality nourish not just the body but also the mind and spirit of all who enter our home. Matt serves as Onancock’s Town Manager and volunteers for several other boards and nonprofit organizations. His quick wit and dry humor entertain family and friends (at least he thinks so!). We love being on the water or exploring the area’s beauty by boat, kayak, or paddleboard. We will lavish care and attention to detail on every aspect of your visit.

In June 2017, we added Dante to our family. Recently, we lost him far, far too soon. We are a dog-loving home, and it was far too quiet and lonely, so we brought a puppy home! She is also a pure-bred German Shepherd named Kira. We are training her to have a soft heart and a calm demeanor. She will become a beautiful and gentle companion.

We love having guests in our home. Our purpose is to make every effort to support you in making this time away precisely what you need it to be: a romantic getaway, an escape from your frenetic pace of life, an exploration of a not-so-far-away quaint seaside community, or a fun and activity-filled excursion.

We look forward to meeting you and to helping make your trip all that you need it to be.

Many thanks and safe travels,

Kim and Matt (and Kira!)
