The Inn at Onancock What is there to do? – The Inn at Onancock

What is there to do?

The Eastern Shore boasts interests for everyone!  We have a rich artisan community, Onancock is a little foodie heaven, Kayaking and SUP-ing, antiquing, and we are a perfect base camp for any other Shore experience.

In this BLOG, we will just go through a general list of all the things to do, and in subsequent posts, we will dig deeper in each area to give you a better idea of each activity.

The Shore houses dozens of artisans from potters to painters, and sculptors to jewelers, and everything in between.  The Historic Onancock School (https://www.historiconancockschool.org/) is home to several resident artist studios and often has an installation in the community room.  Many of our artisans have home based studios and are eager to share their work.

Onancock has far and away the best food scene on the shore with every genre from family style dining, to casual pub-like, to more elegant choices.  The dress code for any of our restaurants encourages you to be comfortable.  The Activities page on our site (https://innatonancock.com/attractions/) provides a link to each website and more!

Our Creek is a jewel and a fantastic resource.  There are so many way to explore it, but one of the most intimate is by kayak or SUP.  We have a local outfitter (https://www.burnhamguides.com/) who are experts that will make sure you are safe and comfortable, whether you decide to venture out on your own or use their time and talent for a guided experience.

Everything on the Shore, whether Cape Charles, Chatham Vineyards, Assateague, Chincoteague, or any of the other unique and quaint towns are within an easy drive.  Stay at the Inn, walk to everything in Onancock, or drive a short way to any other interest.
